Artist-made summer hangs for the city we love
About our summer events:
Tender Alchemists is an exhibition that explores the arbitrary designations of value assigned to objects. Featuring work by Joshua Kent and Zehra Khan. Curated by Katie Waddell. Runs from July 12 to August 25.
The Wonder Wagon is a mobile performance platform made from a converted trailer that brings puppets to Chicago Parks, connecting audiences of all ages through collective imagination and wonder. Created by Grace Needlman and collaborators.
So Broke House is a one-day pop-up spa-like experience and mini-pool party; a self-care day for those who can’t afford self-care. Organized by Katie Waddell in collaboration with Basic Studios. Part of Tender Alchemists.
Artist Katie Vota will host a community clothing exchange and armor generation workshop at the Woodard Plaza. Bring clothes you don’t want anymore, take (new for you!) clothes, and add your ideas for the armor you need in your daily life to the digital armor archive. All leftover clothing will be donated to the Monarch Community Thrift Shop.
